I think we should form an organization in peaceful protest to fight back in the governments "war on drugs". Once the organization's formed we should gain information from other countries about the medicinal and social effects of marijuanna. There will be a 30 second blurb on CBC NEWSWORLD on Sunday December 22, 2002, that I have been interviewed for regarding the Decriminalization of Marijuana in Canada. This will air between 11:30 am and 12 noon (for only 30 seconds), then will repeat between 8:30 pm and 9:00 pm, just before the Sunday Report, again on CBC NEWSWORLD. | comments | On fathersday june 21 1998 i was shot in the spinal cord. I was Only 17 and never found out who shot me. Ever since i got out the Hospital My leggs have been hurting me, Oh so Much. The doc would tell me its part of being disable. I would take the medication the doc would give me but that shit would only send me to sleep. I tried to live a normal life but i was always grouchy due to the fact the my legs herted me so much. I would cry my self to sleep, but only slept till my legs would wake me up agien. My girl friend broke up with me becouse i never acted the same why i useto before i got shot. Some how i graduated from high school and currently work as a receptionist. A year ago i started smokeing marijuana thanks to my best friend LUis. Marijuana has changed my life. I dont feel pain when i smoke it. I sleep like a baby and feel horny when my New girlfriend is around. When i have diarria it does not upset me at all. with marijana i learn to not care for the lil messy mishap we have in life. I jus clean my self up and go on with my life. Marijana in San francisco is abundant speacialy in the illegal type of way. I know there are pleanty of medical canabus clubs in san francisco but they are hard to find. i have to pay for my own pot. and eveybody knows how expencive that could be. I wanted to know if anybody out there knows about a canabus club in san francisco that would be able to help me. I want to meet people with the same problems i have. I wana learn and teach how pot is good for the pain. Please drop me an email, ANY BODY!!!!!!!! | comments | I have been watching a repeat episode about medical marijuana and you were on it talking about medical marijuana. THe name of the program is Health on the line. I suffer from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Depression. I also have severe liver damage from all of the medications I have been taking for pain control. I use marijuana for pain control and find that it is more effective than the morphine i take on a regular basis. I am in the process right now to applying for a id card so that I can use pot for pain control. I support you in what you are doing concerning the medical marijuana use and legalization and look forward to returning to this site regularly for information. |

Now the reason I am speaking out through the Marijuana Mission Website. I KNOW you come here. You are our neighbors, our friends and our co-workers. We thank you for your already incredible support. Now, we need your help. Seems some people just don't GET IT when it comes to the SHORTAGE of REPUTABLE and SAFE places to purchase Medical Marijuana for those of us who are not able to grow our own. On Tuesday, August 16th, 2002, the Toronto Compassion Centre was raided and four of our friends arrested. The terrifying ordeal entailed the Toronto Police STORMING in - rivalling the DEA - weapons drawn, ready for conflict, hell bent for glory, almost shoot and ask questions later kinda bust on all of those big, bad chemo therapy, AID's and MS patients. Problem was, there was NOTHING illegal taking place. The ONLY transactions performed at the Centre are those that utimately are ASKED for by these ailing and despondent individuals. Where is the justice ? As someone who has purchased my medicine from the Black Market for eight years, and the Toronto Compassion Centre for the last five, these clubs are not only a necessity, but they WILL BE PERMANENT. We will make sure of that. These Clubs are the ONLY safe, clean, pesticide free place for people with these horribly painful and desperately isolating ailments to receive medicine. WE cannot live without them. These Clubs are the reason some of us have medicine at all. At these clubs, we are treated with respect and NOT isolated for reasons the public might otherwise feel we deserve. There is no passing judgment. We only pass the Political Football with the Government. Back and forth. Frequently. The Toronto Compassion Centre and other registered clubs are the ONLY place for us to turn to and sometimes - the only place available in our times of desperation and frustration that are SAFE. What in the World was the Govenrment thinking when they brought these regulations to Parliment ? Were they thinking of the people of their Country that are suffering ?? AS one of the many people living with illness - I - think not. We are having a Rally in Toronto on Friday, August 23rd, 2002 in front of the Department of Justice - 8:45 am SHARP to start at the park down the street. We will march up to the Justice Bulidings for 9:00 am on the button. Details will be forwarded to us as soon as they are available and will be posted A.S.A.P. at the Marijuana Misson Website. I'm planning on making an appearance and pitching my MCBO idea, the creation of crown corporation to liscence and distribute marijuana in the same way alcohol is liscenced and distributed. Billions and billions of dollars go unnoticed every year, classified in GDP estimations as 'black market goods', the same category babysitting falls into. Basically, money under the table. Those billions are in the form of beautiful buds. Estimations at how much money passes through hands of the marijuana trade are ludicrously low. Canada could be using these dollars [Although, I'd want a new PM to use those dollars, maybe a youthful, charismatic one?] Imagine Toronto and BC as tourist meccas, stoners from all over the world. Okay, so the potential for insane profits is there, can we ethically deal with the government being a 'drug dealer'? They're selling us our alcohol now and taxing our cigarettes, why not? So, I propose that the monies used from the sale of marijuana by the Marijuana Control Board of Ont [MCBO] go directly to the industries that supposedly suffer the most from marijuana abuse. Healthcare and Education, the two industries that our government, for some reason, chooses to ignore. Also, I'd like to see some of the money going to the TTC, to lower fares to $1. $2.25 is just foolish. *We're* the ones saving the planet, raise the price of gas to cover it, let's be planet conscious canadians, set an example for the global community. | comments | DIANNE FREED Dianne’s Lawyer, David McCaskill, was in trial in Toronto all morning, but made it to Cobourg literally without a minute to spare. The Judge had given Dianne till 2:45 for him to show or it would be put over till Friday. After making the previous 24 weekly sign-ins, being late one day for medical reasons wasn’t too hard to deal with. They wanted to focus on the situation with her surety. She is living with her as part of the conditions, but it seems the OPP are worried that spending weekends with her fiancé is not living with Dianne. Trivial Crap to want to keep a sick woman with 2 children in jail over. David argued it all very well and she got through this mess. She’s out and at home again. As soon as she got puffin, she began to feel better. |

One of them is that she must sign in each Monday. Last week Dianne had an opportunity to fly to the Sunshine Coast for some alternative medical treatments. She had gone to discuss this with her Dr. before hand. He supported her making the trip and provided a letter for the OPP stating so. I picked Dianne up from the airport upon her arrival back in Toronto on Tuesday 16th. From the airport we drove directly to the Cobourg OPP detachment to sign in, be it one day late. Constable Bill O’Shea, an officer we know well was there. We chatted briefly, signed the book and left. Now one week later, she returns for her Monday sign in, and they arrested her for breach of bail conditions. Her Lawyer phoned me from Toronto and asked if I could make the trip to Cobourg and see what was happening (he was tied up). I made it there just as Dianne was being led in ‘Handcuffs’ into see the Justice of the Peace. She was the same “sour old grape” that Dianne had on her initial bail hearing and her mood was no better this time. Things happened fast then. They put the matter over till Wednesday 24th and boom it was over. I stood and spoke out to the Judge that there are medical circumstances that need to be considered here. That she was too sick to be thrown in jail. That she needed to have medication in there. The Judge said the matter has been dealt with. The OPP officer told me to shut up, get out. He said I’m 5 seconds from being arrested myself. I wonder for what? I was so F@@kin angry and upset. There was nothing more I could do. I called her lawyer and filled him in. I then put a call into Tom Philps of the Independent. The OPP can expect some more bad press out of this in this Wednesdays Independent. But that doesn’t help out Dianne much today. There is no knight in shining amour for Dianne Bruce. Her lawyer works pro bono. The police stole her life leaving her destitute. When we can we will try and get him something for his work. Alan Young has offered his help/advise when needed also. But the justice system is so slow, and now they have gone and incarcerated her again…. Madness! Dianne was growing medicine for herself and other sick exemptees. Ironically, the article in the Globe and Mail today confirms that there is no supply forthcoming, and when it does, it will only be used for selected individuals in a research program. Tomorrow I will go protest outside the Whitby Jail. It’s already a battle zone of picketing guards on strike. I’ll smoke my medicine in their faces, and try and drum up some more media interest for Dianne’s case. SB |

I like the e-mail section, although it took me an hour to get halfway. I'm definately going to follow up the links 'n stuff. I'm 35 and very interested in the medicinal aspects as well as the history of and the culture surrounding marijuana. (and its 'derivatives') I've 'self medicated' the better part of the last 20 years; and I have been suffering from pain that is definately alleviated with a nice bowlfull or such.( I also suffer mild asthma which requires a puffer when I don't use my 'pipe' inhaler!) I take percocets(prescription)and get morphine from a buddy who is way over-prescribed. These seem too harsh. I also drink a fair bit which numbs, but is very harsh on the 'bod (and brain and liver and gut and pocket book) I find that mood/state of mind has a large influence on how my pain affects me. This is where the bud has more than helped my life quality; I firmly believe. You seem like a very intelligent person and obviously are committed to your path. Way to go!!!!!!! (by the way you're not vain; your 'front page' picture clears you completely!!)I would like to find out more about the exemptions etc. I am home during the day, and usually up late and would love to chat a bit. I realize you are busy with MS (my aunt suffers for 20 years now) and life in general, or may not get personal with an 'entity'; but you have my e-mail and I would really like to talk. "keep stuffin your 'junk' people!! we still haven't figured how to tax and other wise rape you blind with this new 'pot' prescription, so just keep your codiene, hydrocodone, morphine, heroin and assorted junk scrip's coming!!!"; Ya Baby! Sorry, but it frustrates my sense of sensibility. I won't get political here but my living room clock says its 4:20 as usual(i threw out the batteries hee-hee) and my shoulder is killing me from hen-pecking the keyboard. Hey-they have awesome speech recognition software out now so you can speak and it dictates.I'm investigating for me; and my aunt. Thanks for the enlightening evening! | comments | Hi, my name is Perry Meunier and I have had my MMAR permit since September 2001. I suffered a spinal cord injury in 1996 and have lived with constant pain and spactisity ever since. My doctor agreed to prescribe me medical marijuana even though she was warned that her medical license was in jeopardy if she did. I am now able to grow pesticide free marijuana in my own home. I have tried different stains of seeds to find which ones work best for me and have had very good success. I would like to thank Alison for introducing me to the awesome website. |

| comments | Hi: Seen you with other panel members on discovery health. Never have a seen a program that I could relate to 100%. I received my Sec. 56 exemption last Nov 22,2001. I had spoke to my doctor about it and he did not hesitate for one moment to sign the form. I was really impressed on how fast Health Canada give me my Exemption. I was told by many people that it may take years. I have chronic osteoarthritis and I am 63 years of age. After many years of Morphine, Phentanol, Inflammatory drugs, just to name a few, lost a lot of weight, could not even look at food. I thought I had an eating disorder. My brain could not function, had to stop driving because my brain was so full of pain I could not concentrate on the road and now I have been at the mercy of my family and friends. I am allowed 2 grams per day but some days I could smoke 6 grams a day as you all know what we get on the street is usually not very good and expensive. We do not know wether it has been laced with something or what, medication should be controlled and safe.I do not smoke my 2 grams every day as I cannot afford to spend $20.00 per day. I would if I could but I can't afford it. Does the exemption give me the right to grow it or do I need a licence or something. My husband has looked into hydoponic,and yes it will cost us to start up but in comparison to what we have to pay it is a blessing. My exemption is good till Nov.22 of this year. Can you tell me what procedures I will have face or will it be the usual doctor/patient form. If I have to re-apply how soon should I look into this. I must say I really enjoyed the show, it reassured me that I was not alone. |
